WEST PLAINS, MO- Ozarks Action Incorporated (OAI), a well-known community-based non-profit organization has recently announced plans to offer additional Early Head Start slots to better meet the needs of area families. But also, the organization is looking to hire in multiple employment positions.
Recently, OAI announced the organization had received approval to convert multiple Head Start slots to Early Head Start slots.
- Both Head Start and Early Head Start not only provides Early Childhood Education, health, and nutrition services, but recourses for parents and families during the earliest stages of their child’s life.
- Included specifically in the Early Head Start Program which assists pregnant women, infants, and toddlers up to Age 3 are:
-FREE Diapers and Formula
-Breastfeeding support and private spaces for nursing Moms
-Priority points for Mothers in teenage mothers
-Safe and nurturing learning environments for young kids.
-Highly trained teachers who are focused and experienced in early learning and family support.
At the beginning of the month, OAI announced openings for substitutes at the locations (Ava, Bakersfield, Cabool, and West Plains) starting at a salary of $14.05 per hour. This would be on a Monday-Thursday schedule and up to 36 Hours per week. OAI is also accepting applications for an Early Head Start teacher at all locations. Qualifications in the above positions also apply to this opening. Applications will be taken until Wednesday, November 12th, 2025, at 8:00 AM.
- In addition to a forwarded application, Applicants must also submit an education verification, a background & fingerprint screening, drug test, TB Assessment, and obtain a Class E license if required.
