The Willow Springs Bears were on the road Friday night, taking on the
Pleasant Hope Pirates. A rainy dreary start to the game kept the scoring to a minimum, but the Bears ended the first quater, leading by a score of 6-0.
In the second quarter, the Bears offense would come to life, highlighted by a 63 yard TD run by Anthony Shortridge. At the end of the half, the Bears took a comfortable 28-0 lead.
In the third quarter, it was all Bears once again, as they outscored the Pirates by a score of 12-0, and won the contest easily by a score of 40-0

With the win, the Bears improve to 2-0 on the young season. Next week the Bears will be at home, celebrating their 100th year as a football program, and will take on the Cabool Bulldogs.
