At 10:22 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 7, 2026, resident Ethain Harris, DOC No. 1261981,
was pronounced dead at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri.
Harris was a 32-year-old resident serving a 10-year sentence for one count of first
degree burglary, four counts of second-degree burglary, two counts of stealing of $750
or more, one count of property damage first-degree, one count of tampering with a
motor vehicle, two counts of stealing a motor vehicle, one count of stealing, one count
of stealing an animal, two counts of theft or stealing $500 or more, two counts of
resisting and interfering with arrest and one count of delivery or possession of a weapon
at a county or private jail from Lawrence County. Harris was received in the Missouri
Department of Corrections on July 23, 2021.
An autopsy will be conducted.
