State lawmakers toured L&R Industries, visiting the company’s facility at Twin Cities Industrial Park and meeting with local leaders to discuss the company’s history, current success, and future growth opportunities.
The visit included Missouri State Senator Brad Hudson and State Representative Bennie Cook, along with other members of the Missouri General Assembly. Staff from U.S. Congressman Jason Smith’s office were also in attendance. The tour was coordinated with city officials and economic development partners to give state and federal offices a firsthand look at a locally rooted manufacturing operation that continues to expand.
Founded decades ago in the region, L&R Industries has grown from a small welding and metal fabrication shop into a diversified manufacturing company. Today, its operations include steel processing, millwright services, industrial equipment fabrication, and welded assemblies.
Company leadership outlined plans for further expansion, including a potential slitter operation and the addition of rail access within the industrial park to improve production efficiency and logistics. If implemented, those projects could result in 70 to 80 new full-time jobs in the coming years.
“L&R Industries represents the kind of homegrown manufacturing success we want to see more of across rural Missouri,” said Senator Brad Hudson. “They’re creating good-paying jobs, investing locally, and strengthening the regional economy. Our responsibility is to stay engaged, listen, and make sure policies encourage growth and long-term investment.”
“It’s important for lawmakers to hear directly from employers who are putting people to work and reinvesting in their communities,” said Representative Bennie Cook. “L&R Industries is a strong example of how local manufacturers drive economic growth in rural Missouri, and continued collaboration will help ensure that momentum continues.”
Representatives from city and county government, along with local economic development officials, also participated. They highlighted the recent 300-acre expansion of Twin Cities Industrial Park, which has strengthened the park’s ability to attract new industrial tenants and support long-term economic growth.
Officials in attendance committed to staying engaged, maintaining communication, and continuing discussions focused on workforce and infrastructure needs.
For L&R Industries, the message was clear: the company expects to keep growing and remains committed to expanding both its operations and workforce in the region.
