The BLUE ALERT previously posted has been cancelled. The suspect is deceased following an exchange of gunfire with law enforcement.
Tragically, a total of two deputies were killed in the line of duty, and two additional deputies were injured during this incident. This is a devastating loss for the Christian County Sheriff’s Office, their families, and the entire law enforcement community. STONE COUNTY, MISSOURI- The vehicle of wanted suspect, believed to be Richard Dean Bird, has been found in the course of a manhunt for the shooter of Stone County Deputy, Gabriel Ramirez.
Earlier this evening at 8:38 PM; Christian County Sherriff confirmed that Ramirez was the deputy wounded in an incident that took place near Highlandville, MO. Suspect was seen to be driving a white, 2001 Chevorlet Siverado (extended cab)
Stone County deputies are assisting Christian County in the search for the man. If you see the suspect, do not approach and immediatly call 911.
