According to a probable cause statement filed in Wright County, Master Patrolman Brandon Meacham stopped a vehicle just after midnight on March 26 for having no license‑plate lights. The driver, identified as Jeremy Dewayne Bowers, told the officer he had a suspended license. Dispatch confirmed the suspension and reported “there were three convictions they were seeing” for driving while suspended.

Bowers was taken into custody, and a K9 unit was called to the scene. After the dog alerted to the odor of narcotics, officers conducted a probable‑cause search. The report states they found a cloth bag containing “seven plastic baggies containing white crystal residue, seven syringes containing blood and two straws,” along with additional baggies of suspected methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia, and a Hi‑Point 9mm handgun with ammunition.

The substance located on the bottom of a butane can field‑tested positive for methamphetamine. Bowers was transported to the Wright County Jail and is charged with possession of a controlled substance, unlawful use of a weapon, and driving while revoked or suspended. His bond was set at $2500.
