Summersville Woman Airlifted After Tuesday Crash

A Summersville woman was injured Tuesday evening after her vehicle went airborne in a single‑vehicle crash south of town.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened at 6:18 p.m. on Highway 17, about one mile south of Highway 106. Troopers say a 67‑year‑old woman from Summersville was driving a 2009 Cadillac CTS southbound when the vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a culvert, and became airborne.

The driver, who was not wearing a seat belt, suffered moderate injuries. She was flown by medical helicopter to Mercy Hospital in Springfield.

MSHP reports the crash was investigated by Trooper S.A. Swink, with assistance from Master Sergeant C.A. Kimes, the Summersville Fire Department, Mercy Ambulance, and LifeFlight.
