From DWIs to Parole Violations: This Week’s Izard County Arrests

MELBOURNE, Ark. – The Izard County Sheriff’s Office has released its weekly incarceration report for the week ending October 13, 2025. According to Sheriff Charley Melton, the following individuals were booked into the Izard County Detention Center. All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Brenton McCurley, 57, of Wideman, was arrested on October 6 for contempt of court out of the Izard County Drug Court.

Christopher Medley, 47, of Batesville, was arrested on October 7 on a felony bond revocation from the Izard County Circuit Court.

James Henry Howell, 60, of Dolph, was arrested on October 7 for possession of firearms by certain persons and probation/parole violations. Howell has also been charged as a habitual offender.

Edwin Garcia, 29, of Batesville, was arrested on October 10 for driving left of center, no driver’s license, open container of alcohol, and driving while intoxicated.

Bryan Cain, 56, of Melbourne, was arrested on October 11 for reckless driving, open container of alcohol, DWI, and refusal to submit to a chemical test.

James Baney, 47, of Sidney, was arrested on October 12 on a warrant out of the Izard County District Court for failure to appear.

Samantha Cohn, 37, of Horseshoe Bend, was arrested on October 13 on a warrant out of Fulton County for failure to appear.

The Izard County Sheriff’s Office releases weekly reports of arrests and detentions as part of its ongoing transparency and public information efforts.
