Izard County Sheriff’s Office Releases April Activity and Weekly Incarceration Report

Izard County, AR — The Izard County Sheriff’s Office has released its monthly and weekly reports, providing a comprehensive overview of law enforcement activity throughout the area.

During the month of April, Izard County dispatch received a total of 349 calls for service, reflecting steady community engagement and ongoing public safety needs. Deputies completed 94 incident reports and responded to 17 motor vehicle accidents, highlighting the continued demand for law enforcement presence on local roadways.

The Sheriff’s Office also filed 14 new felony cases with the Izard County Circuit Clerk’s Office, underscoring ongoing efforts to address criminal activity within the county. In addition, deputies served 53 civil papers during the month.

At the Izard County Detention Center, jail staff processed 67 inmate bookings, maintaining an average daily population of 36 inmates. Meanwhile, the Office Administration collected $16,289.16 in restitution for victims, fines, and fees—funds that contribute directly to supporting justice and county operations.


Weekly Incarceration Report – Week Ending May 5, 2025

According to Sheriff Charley Melton, the following individuals were incarcerated last week. All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law:

  • Ronald Hill, 30, of Salem – arrested on April 29 for probation violations.

  • Billy Mortenson, 48, of Gassville – arrested on April 29 on a warrant for failure to pay issued out of Lakeview.

  • Kenneth Ward, 60, of Melbourne – arrested on April 30 on a Circuit Court warrant for failure to comply with the sex offender registry.

  • Jessica Adams, 39, of Mount Pleasant – arrested on April 30 for probation violations.

  • Joseph Chapps, 30, of Hardy – arrested on May 1 for driving on a suspended driver’s license.

  • Sierra Stapelton, 25, of Melbourne – arrested on May 1 on a Baxter County warrant for misdemeanor probation violations.

  • Dylan Sanders, 33, of Pineville – arrested on May 2 on a District Court warrant for domestic battery in the 3rd degree.

  • Cheyenne Stowe, 26, and Tommy Stowe, 34, both of Violet Hill – arrested on May 3 for domestic battery 3rd degree and endangering the welfare of a minor.

  • Garrett Kolton, 25, of Humboldt, TN – arrested on May 3 for possession of a controlled substance.

  • Doyle Cooper, 67, of Melbourne – arrested on May 3 for fleeing, driving while intoxicated (DWI), and endangering the welfare of a minor.
