West Plains, MO. – The 37th Judicial Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) is in need of volunteer advocates to help with children within the court system. In the four counties supported by CASA, 50 of the approximately 250 abused and neglected children are currently being served by the 30 volunteer advocates.
Advocates speak up for abused and neglected children, most of whom are in foster care. Trained and qualified community volunteers provide advocacy to abused and neglected children. The program’s goal is a safe, permanent and nurturing home for every child it serves. Potential volunteer advocates must complete a six week – 30 hour training program and will have access to those within the court system to receive information from.
