Alton, MO. – One resident from Alton nearly struck an animal in the roadway, which led to a crash and injuries on Wednesday, September 27th.
This accident occurred in Oregon County on Route FF, roughly 6 miles East of Alton. Moving Southbound on FF was a Ford F-150, driven by Bethany Long, a 27-year-old Alton resident.

At around 3:32pm, Bethany ran across a deer on the road. To avoid it, she swerved and ended up striking a telephone pole and a fence. The accident totaled the vehicle and inflicted the driver with moderate injuries.
Long was transported to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment. The Highway Patrol investigator on this incident was Sergeant T.W. Meyer of Troop G.
