Area Deer Hunters Helping Out Others Through Share the Harvest

Barnetts Meat Processing located on St. Louis Street in West Plains reported that 30 deer were donated by local hunters during the early portion of the hunting season for Share the Harvest, a program in which deer are processed and the meat is distributed through local food banks.

Earlier in the month Genesis Church hosted a venison drive in conjunction with the First Baptist Church Food Bank to promote share the harvest and many local businesses jumped on board donating prizes for those who donated.  Businesses who donated prizes were were 37 North Realty, Broken Bow Archery, Hirsch Feed and Farm Supply, Monty’s Outdoors, Hughes Taxidermy and Gary’s Tire.

To keep the momentum going especially in this time of need for many in our communities Barnetts Meat Processing is offering a special.  When you donate a deer to Share the Harvest you will receive $25 off processing the next deer that you bring in for yourself.

Good Luck to all of the hunters out there and keep Sharing the Harvest and help out our neighbors.
