West Plains, MO. – A Birch Tree woman was injured in a one-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon. According to the crash report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the incident occurred at 1:24 p.m. on US 60, four miles east of Birch Tree.
An eastbound GMC Envoy driven by Janice Hawkins, age 76 of Birch Tree, ran off the left side of the roadway before overcorrecting, running off the right side of the road, and overturning, totaling the vehicle.

Hawkins suffered moderate injuries and was taken by Mercy Ambulance to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment. She had been wearing a safety device.
