Burn Ban Begins in Fulton County

Fulton County, AR. – Fulton County, as well as a few other Arkansas Counties have, as of yesterday, started a burn ban as increased drought conditions impact the Ozarks once again.

Fulton County is joined by Izard, Sharp, and Stone Counties in this most recent ban. Marion and Baxter County are not yet in a ban, save for the City of Salesville, which has one enacted. According to information from https://www.arkfireinfo.org/, most of the state of Arkansas shares in these conditions, with only a few holdout counties in the North not having active bans.

This means that outdoor burning is legally prohibited until conditions resolve, and residents should be doubly careful when and if fire is present.

The entire state of Arkansas is currently under a “High” threat level for wildfires.
