We’re several weeks in to having little to no rain in the Ozarks, and drought conditions are worsening. According to the National Drought Monitor, the range of D2 “severe drought” has increased in size across both Missouri and Arkansas.
Currently, the counties within this range include Baxter, Izard, and Fulton in Arkansas, and Ozark, Douglas, Wright, Howell, Shannon, and Oregon County in Missouri.
Other counties not affected within the immediate listening area are still under drought status, most of them under D1 “moderate drought” conditions.
Burn bans are still in effect for several locations throughout the Ozarks. A map for regions in a burn ban can be found by clicking here.
No rain is expected in the immediate forecast.
