MTC Awards Over $1.9 Million Through the 2025 Physical Infrastructure Grant Program
The Ozarks Small Business Incubator (OzSBI) is excited to announce it is 1 of 7 awardees of the 2025 Physical Infrastructure Grant from the Missouri Technology Corporation (MTC). These investments will ensure OzSBI remains a vital hub for entrepreneurship in southern Missouri, helping local innovators thrive for years to come.
The 2025 Physical Infrastructure Grant Program has been approved for nearly $1.9 million by the MTC Board of Directors. With that, seven organizations have been approved for funding including: OzSBI, 39 North AgTech Innovation District, Joplin Area Chamber of Commerce, KC Digital Drive, Missouri Rural Enterprise and Innovation Center, St. Joseph Chamber of Commerce and St. Louis Economic Partnership. The program reflects MTC’s strategic priority to support regionally led, grant-based ecosystem-building efforts through a competitive application process.
The MTC Physical Infrastructure grant will enable the OzSBI to renovate its shared tenant amenities, including replacing heating and air conditioning units that have met their lifespan and are no longer functioning at capacity, replacing worn carpeting, and repainting the interior. CEO Heather Fisher shared, “While we have maintained the facility over the years, many areas are showing their wear from 13+ years of heavy, shared uses and are in need of updating. These vital infrastructure improvements, long deferred due to financial constraints, will receive a much-needed boost from the MTC Physical Infrastructure Grant.” Fisher went on to say, “These improvements will help us meet tenant and community needs by making the spaces we have more usable and functional. It will also attract a greater influx of entrepreneurs, fostering stronger connections among rural entrepreneurs, creating a synergistic environment that propels ideas, innovations, and businesses toward success.”
