Deputies Complete Crisis Negotiation Training

The Howell County Sheriff’s Office is recognizing two members of its patrol division after they completed a 40‑hour Crisis Negotiation Course in February. Deputies Barnes and Barslow attended the specialized training at FBI Headquarters in Kansas City.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, the course focuses on communication skills, de‑escalation techniques, and strategies for safely resolving high‑risk or critical incidents. Officials say continued professional training ensures deputies are prepared to respond effectively when the community needs it most.
