DONIPHAN, MO-The Doniphan Police Department is wanting to remind everyone to stay safe and alert when it comes to potential scams.
In a Facebook post on Monday, the department said that they have been receiving reports of scam calls, texts and emails of individuals who are pretending to be law enforcement and government agencies as well as utility companies.

They also remind followers and the community of how deceiving the convincing nature of the calls can be and to never give out social security information.
When in doubt, one can hang up and call the number directly.
