Dora Man Arrested After Allegedly Striking Victim With Jeep, Facing Multiple Felony Charges

A Dora man is facing several felony charges after deputies say he drove a Jeep into a group of people gathered at a Gainesville residence early March 14th. According to the probable cause statement, deputies were dispatched around 3:54 a.m. after a 911 caller reported that a male “had been struck by a vehicle” and initially appeared not to be breathing.

Witnesses told investigators that 22‑year‑old Hunter Ray Warren had earlier been asked to leave the gathering but later returned “in the teal blue Jeep blacked out… when they heard an engine revving,” before the vehicle accelerated toward the group. Three people were able to jump out of the way, but Victim 1 was struck. Deputies say Warren left the scene.

Investigators later located the Jeep at Warren’s residence, where he was arrested after deputies noted signs of intoxication. Warren admitted consuming alcohol but claimed he did not recall the incident. A search warrant led to the seizure of his phone and the Jeep.

Victim 1 was treated at Baxter Regional Hospital for multiple contusions, a closed‑head injury with loss of consciousness, and a possible foot fracture. He told deputies he wants to pursue charges.

Warren is charged with Armed Criminal Action, First‑Degree Assault, Leaving the Scene of an Accident, Driving Without a Valid License, and Careless and Imprudent Driving. He was taken into custody without further incident.
