Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant Application Now Open for 2025-2026 Academic Year

The Missouri Department of Higher Education and Workforce Development (MDHEWD) has announced that applications are now open for the 2025–2026 Fast Track Workforce Incentive Grant, with increased funding aimed at expanding access to higher education and job training for adult learners across the state.

The Fast Track Grant provides financial assistance to eligible Missourians seeking a certificate, degree, or industry-recognized credential in high-demand fields such as health care, IT, transportation, and business. Thanks to a $2 million funding boost in Missouri’s FY2026 budget—signed by Governor Mike Kehoe—the program is poised to help even more adults gain the skills needed to support Missouri’s workforce.

“This is a fast-growing initiative that opens financial pathways for adult learners,” said Dr. Bennett Boggs, MDHEWD Commissioner. “We’re grateful for the continued support from Governor Kehoe and the Missouri General Assembly as we work to increase access to prosperous careers.”

Eligible applicants must be at least 25 years old or have not been enrolled in school for two years, lack a bachelor’s degree, and meet income and program-specific requirements. In many cases, Fast Track can fully cover tuition and fees when combined with other aid.

Applications are available now through the State Financial Aid Portal and must be submitted by May 15, 2026, to be considered.
