Fatal Crash Leaving One Man Dead And Four Others Injured

Franklin, AR. – According to the Arkansas State Police fatality report, an Izard County man was fatally injured following a two-vehicle crash.

The crash occurred on May 25, 2024, on State Highway 56 in Franklin, Arkansas. 67-year-old Richard Dorris was traveling east when he crossed over the double yellow centerline and struck an oncoming vehicle head-on. Dorris was pronounced dead at the scene. Three unidentified minors traveling with Dorris and 85-year-old Avery Mallard, the driver of the second vehicle, were all injured in the crash and taken to Fulton County Hospital for treatment.
