WEST PLAINS, Mo. — Roughly an acre of grassland burned in the West Plains area Wednesday.
The West Plains Fire Department responded to a residence in the 4600 block of County Road 6300 for a reported grass fire just before noon on Wednesday. Firefighters arrived to find roughly an acre burning and extinguished the fire.
The fire had started when winds blew a spark from a previous control burn conducted by the owner blew into an open field.
No property damage or injuries were reported.
