Howell County Sheriff’s Department Release Call Statistics for July

Howell County Sheriff’s Office – July 2025 Calls for Service Report
In July 2025, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office responded to 1,340 calls for service, a 15.7% increase over the six-month average, making it the busiest month in that timeframe.

Compared to June, several categories saw notable increases: Vehicle Stops rose significantly from 215 to 286, along with Agency Assists, Alarm Calls, Careless Driving, Suspicious Activity, and Civil Process Service. The Sheriff’s Office also saw upticks in behavioral health and public safety areas such as Suicide Attempt Calls, Mentally Impaired Calls, and Overdose Responses. Property-related offenses, including Property Damage, Scams, and Stealing, also trended higher.

On the other hand, reports of Animal Calls, Disturbances, Trespassing, and Well-Being Checks declined compared to June.

Some call types, like Burglaries, Pursuits, and Forgery, remained unchanged.
These trends reflect both seasonal shifts and expanded enforcement efforts.

While the overall volume of calls has grown steadily, the continued rise in mental health-related calls highlights the ongoing challenges in this area.
