Howell County Sheriff’s Office Celebrates New Batch of CIT Training Graduates

West Plains, MO. – The Howell County Sheriff’s Office is celebrating a new batch of graduates from the CIT, or Crisis Intervention Training course.

CIT is a course designed to help those who complete it engage with someone in emotional distress in a way meant to deescalate a situation.

Those who completed this round of training include dispatchers Amy Johnson and Terry King, Lieutenant Torey Thompson, Deputy Melanie Roam, and jailers Chris Stanley, Gary Johnson, Megan Jones, and Michelle Carlson.

In the announcement, Sheriff Matt Roberts stated his appreciation of those who complete the training in their continued commitment to serving the citizens of Howell County.
