In recognition of Mental Health Awareness Month, the Howell County Sheriff’s Office is reaffirming its commitment to mental wellness for both the public and its staff.
Throughout May, the department is encouraging open conversations about mental health and emphasizing that “it’s okay not to be okay.” By raising awareness and providing support, the Sheriff’s Office hopes to help reduce stigma and ensure that those struggling know they are not alone.
Resources for mental health support remain available around the clock. Local services include the Ozarks Healthcare Behavioral Health Center and Crisis Stabilization Center, as well as a number of state and national hotlines. In emergencies, residents are reminded to call or text 911.
“We’re proud to serve a community that cares,” the department stated, encouraging all residents to seek help when needed and to look out for one another.
