From the Howell County Sherriff’s Department:
On July 19, 2025, at approximately 0010 hours, Deputy Trenton Roberts, with the assistance of Deputy Dylan Vice, Deputy Kyle Holloway, and Corporal Timothy Gordon, responded to a residence in Mountain View in an effort to locate Jimmy Ray Dell West. West had active felony warrants for his arrest, including charges of felony 1st-degree harassment and additional misdemeanor offenses.
Upon arrival, deputies were unable to locate West at the residence. However, further investigation revealed that West had seen law enforcement vehicles approaching and fled the area on foot.
To assist in the search, Deputy Vice deployed a thermal drone to scan the surrounding area for signs of human activity. The drone quickly detected a heat signature consistent with a human figure hiding behind a nearby building.
In response, Cpl. Gordon deployed K9 “Flash” to track and apprehend the suspect if necessary. K9 Flash successfully tracked West to the area indicated by the drone, locating him concealed behind a propane tank at the rear of the building.
West was given multiple verbal commands to surrender or face apprehension by the K9. He ultimately chose to comply. Deputies Roberts and Holloway moved in and took West into custody without further incident.
West was transported to the Howell County Jail, where he was booked on his outstanding felony and misdemeanor warrants.
