Willow Springs, MO. – Earlier this week, we reported the serious injury of a 13-year-old male child that was involved in an ATV accident. Further reports from the Missouri State Highway Patrol indicate that the juvenile has succumbed to their injuries.
To recount details from the initial incident, a 9-year-old male was operating an ATV with a 13-year-old passenger in tow on private property south of Willow Springs on Sunday, May 12th. The vehicle flipped over when the operator failed to make a left turn. During the overturn, the ATV came to rest on top of the 13-year-old, inflicting serious injuries.
According to details on the report, the occupant was pronounced deceased by Dr. Thaver with Mercy Hospital in Springfield at 8:19pm on the night of Tuesday, May 14th.
This marks Troop G’s 4th fatality in 2024, as opposed to 11 this time last year.
