West Plains, MO. – A dedication at the historic Lincoln School in West Plains took place over the past weekend, with a pair of bronze statues and multiple murals revealed during the ceremony.
This event happened on Saturday morning, with a ceremony that addressed the impactful story of African American residents in the West Plains and Howell county area.
This plaza receives its name from its intended purpose: to make individuals reflect and think, to slow down and ponder on society and life.
Nigerian resident Bolaji Ogunwa was present at the ceremony as well, having contributed murals to not only seating with in the plaza, but also to the pedastals the statues stand upon.
The statues and murals may be viewed at any time now at 1400 E Pony Thomas, West Plains.
A video will be uploaded to our YouTube page in the coming days, documenting the entirety of the ceremony.
