Mansfield Man Charged with First Degree Stalking

MANSFIELD, Mo.- A Mansfield man was taken into custody on November 14, 2025, after allegedly threatening to kill another man during a conversation with a children’s division worker.

According to authorities, Clint Overton reportedly told the worker that if the man, identified only as VICTIM 1, touched his daughter, he would kill him, or “blow his lid” and do it anyway, stating he was willing to serve 25 years in prison.

Deputies contacted the victim by phone to inform him of the threat and the victim agreed to file a statement but was out of town at the time. When interviewed, Overton denied making the recent threat but admitted to making similar statements in the past. He also acknowledged having threatened victim 1 “a lot of times,” though claimed he had no intention of acting on them.

Overton was arrested and transported to the Wright County Jail for first-degree stalking.
