Mountain Grove Woman Arrested for Stabbing Victim

Mountain Grove, MO. – On Friday, July 18th, a Mountain Grove woman was taken into custody for multiple instances of assault, where a victim was trapped under a stool, beaten, and later attacked with a knife.

This began with an Officer Meacham being dispatched just before 9pm to a residence for a stabbing. On arrival, the victim was found with a stab wound on the left arm and notable bruising and scratches on their face.

Victim testimony states the altercations began when they refused to provide the suspect, Brittanie Mathews, born in 1985, with transport to another residence.

Mathews then reportedly threw a stool at the victim, trapped them under the stool, and struck them multiple times in the face. The stabbing happened when another argument happened later that day, and Mathews attacked the victim with a knife.

Mathews was taken into custody on charges of felony 1st Degree Domestic Assault, felony 2nd Degree Kidnapping, and felony Armed Criminal Action.
