Eminence, MO. – Shannon County Sheriff Steven Hogan issued a press release earlier this week on a multi-county pursuit that ended in a felony arrest. Read below for more.
On October 8, 2025, the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office, in coordination with the Carter County Sheriff’s Office, assisted multiple agencies in a pursuit that originated in Carter County and continued into Shannon County.
Deputies were notified of a dark-colored sedan observed traveling in excess of 115 miles per hour and weaving through traffic, posing an immediate danger to motorists. The vehicle, later identified as being operated by Adam Keener, a resident of Oak Grove, Kentucky, was traveling westbound on U.S. Highway 60.
Sheriff Alonzo Bradwell (Carter County) and I jointly managed the pursuit and coordinated communication between multiple responding agencies, including the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Howell County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputy Berkshire of the Shannon County Sheriff’s Office successfully conducted the traffic stop after Keener had been traveling westbound in the eastbound lane and narrowly avoided striking his patrol vehicle. Keener eventually came to a stop in the passing lane of the divided highway.
Upon contact, Keener exhibited visible signs of intoxication and later provided a breath sample indicating a Blood Alcohol Content (0.178) above the legal limit. He also admitted to attempting to evade law enforcement prior to being stopped.
Keener was arrested and transported to the Shannon County Jail, where he was booked and placed on a 24-hour hold pending formal charges from the Shannon County Prosecutor’s Office.
Keener has since been charged with a Class D Felony for Aggravated Fleeing Stop/Detention “Valentine’s Law.” Bond is set at $10,000.00 cash only.
Further charges are anticipated from the PA’S Office.
“Under the law, the accused is entitled to a presumption of innocence until proven guilty in a court of law.”
A big shout out of appreciation goes to Deputy Berkshire, Sheriff Bradwell, and all assisting agencies for their professionalism and teamwork in safely bringing this dangerous situation to a close without injury to law enforcement or the public.
