West Plains, MO. – Two vehicles collided on US 63 just 1 mile South of West Plains on Wednesday afternoon.
A 1999 Pontiac Firebird was moving Southbound along 63, driven and occupied by a pair from Osage Beach, MO. The crash occurred at roughly 12:50 PM when the driver, Marc Hinrichs, 45, swerved to avoid an oncoming vehicle, and moved into the path of a 2021 Freightliner.
Both the driver of the freightliner, and Marc were uninjured in the crash, but one occupant of the Firebird, was not. Kelly Hinrichs, 44 of Osage Beach, was moderately injured, and was transported to Ozarks Healthcare in West Plains for treatment. Kelly was not wearing her safety device.
This accident was investigated by Corporal J.D. Wheeler of the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Troop G.
