One Suspect Leaves His Partners High and Dry After Attempted Burglary of The Hemp Joint

Carter County deputies responded to an alarm call at the Hemp Joint business in Van Buren, Missouri, on Saturday, June 22, 2025. Upon arrival, a responding deputy located a suspect vehicle and initiated a pursuit as the vehicle fled through the City of Van Buren.
Despite the vehicle evading law enforcement during the initial pursuit, subsequent investigation revealed that thousands of dollars in damage and business product had been incurred at the Hemp Joint.

Through diligent efforts, Carter County Sheriff’s Office deputies were able to identify the suspects involved. Two individuals are now in custody: one juvenile and an adult identified as Ralon Morrissey. Both Mr. Morrissey and one of the juveniles voluntarily turned themselves in to deputies, and charges are actively being sought.
Law enforcement continues to search for the remaining juvenile suspect who is currently evading apprehension. Juvenile names cannot be released to the public.
