WEST PLAINS, MO – Ozarks Healthcare will celebrate National Pharmacy Week, October 19 through 25, recognizing the vital role pharmacists and pharmacy staff play in patient care and medication safety.
In conjunction with Pharmacy Week, Ozarks Healthcare’s Pharmacy will host National Drug Take Back Day a day early, on Friday, October 24, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Community members are encouraged to safely dispose of unused or expired prescription medications by bringing them to the secure drop box at the Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacy, located on the health system’s main campus inside the main entrance.
Proper disposal of medications helps prevent misuse and protects the environment by keeping pharmaceuticals out of the water supply and landfills.
Ozarks Healthcare thanks its pharmacy professionals for their dedication to ensuring safe, effective, and high-quality care for patients every day.
In addition to the Drug Take Back event, Ozarks Healthcare Pharmacies are now offering flu vaccinations at all locations. Both regular and high-dose (for ages 65+) flu shots are available Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on a walk-in basis. Updated COVID-19 vaccines will also be available later this fall.
