Ozarks Healthcare Welcome a New Doctor to Their Staff

From Ozarks Healthcare:

WEST PLAINS, MO – Ozarks Healthcare is pleased to announce that Jose Crespo, MD, has joined its Women’s Health team. Crespo is an experienced obstetrician-gynecologist (OB/GYN) with a strong background in women’s healthcare and a longstanding commitment to personalized patient care.

Crespo earned his Doctor of Medicine from Ponce School of Medicine in Ponce, Puerto Rico, in 1995. He completed a four-year, ACGME-accredited residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at San Luke’s Hospital in Ponce in 2002. Before specializing in OB/GYN, Crespo began his postgraduate medical journey with a transitional residency at Mayagüez Medical Center in Puerto Rico and a pathology residency at Baystate Medical Center, a Tufts University affiliate in Springfield, Massachusetts.

While initially exploring pathology, Crespo quickly realized that a hands-on, patient-centered specialty was a better fit. His path to OB/GYN opened unexpectedly when he was asked to assist at a hospital that had recently lost its OB/GYN residency accreditation. His immersive experience during that time solidified his calling to women’s health.

“I was doing everything from the start – procedures usually reserved for third- or fourth-year residents,” Crespo said. “That year showed me exactly what I wanted to do.”

Crespo is especially passionate about gynecologic surgery, including minimally invasive procedures. He is eager to bring compassionate care and innovation to the region. Crespo also believes in the power of listening and building meaningful connections.

“I take time to hear my patients’ stories,” he said. “It’s about understanding them as people – not just symptoms.”

Crespo is accepting new patients – no referral required – at Ozarks Healthcare Women’s Health. His services include preventive care, surgical treatment for gynecologic conditions, and obstetric care, including labor and delivery.
