Press Release from Shannon County Sheriff Steven Hogan:
I wanted to personally reach out to the people of Shannon County regarding the recent news from the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control.
I know our community well. We’re small, we’re close, and when something like this comes out, people naturally have questions and concerns. I want you to know that I hear your concerns and understand them.
Throughout the Highway Patrol’s independent investigation, our office has fully cooperated, and we will continue to do so. Because this matter is still ongoing, I can’t discuss details, but I do want to reassure you of one thing: your Sheriff’s Office is here, it’s steady, and we are continuing to serve you every single day.
The staff who remain on duty have shown strength, professionalism, and a genuine commitment to our community during a challenging time. I’m proud of them, and I’m grateful for their hard work. Shannon County has always been a place where people support one another, and that doesn’t change in the face of difficult news. We will move forward together, with honesty, stability, and a continued focus on protecting and serving our citizens.
I want to reiterate that we remain steadfast in the values that Shannon County has sought in a Law Enforcement Agency: to uphold, first and foremost, the legally, morally, and ethically correct values our community deserves. Our commitment to you is unwavering. My office will remain transparent to you as it has from the start.
I truly appreciate the patience, understanding, and trust you give us. If you have questions about the investigation itself, please reach out to the Missouri State Highway Patrol DDCC, as they are the proper source for information at this time. Thank you for standing with us.
Your Sheriff,
Steven Hogan
