At 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 12, 2026, resident Daniel Mankey, DOC No.
1385162, confined at South Central Correctional Center, was pronounced dead at
Mercy Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri.
Mankey was a 65-year-old resident serving a life sentence for three counts of first
degree sodomy or attempted sodomy of a child less than 12 years old from Barton
County. Mankey was received in the Missouri Department of Corrections on March 31,
2023.
