Update: The search effort for the suspect who fled on foot near Howell Memorial Cemetery has concluded without locating the individual. Authorities have determined that there is no ongoing threat to the community.
Residents are encouraged to ensure that their vehicles and belongings are safely secured. If you notice any suspicious activity, please report it to the authorities immediately.
Currently, officers are located on 63 by Howell Memorial Cemetery, where a trooper stopped a car that was determined to be stolen. The driver exited the vehicle and ran west into the woods.
Troopers and deputies have set up a perimeter, and a canine is actively searching in conjunction with a drone for the suspect. A suspect has been identified.
Residents of the area are advised to secure their vehicles and ensure that their homes are locked and secured.
The suspect was wearing a white shirt and blue jeans when he ran.
