In response to the recent federal disaster declaration (DR-4885) for severe storms that struck Missouri from May 23–26, the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA) will hold Public Assistance applicant briefings on July 30 and 31.
The briefings will assist local governments and qualifying nonprofit agencies in counties included in the declaration—Dade, Douglas, Ozark, Vernon, and Webster—in applying for FEMA Public Assistance. This program provides financial support for repairing public infrastructure and reimbursing emergency response and recovery costs.
Briefing details:
- Wednesday, July 30 | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.
Douglas County Courthouse
203 East Lincoln Ave., Ava, MO - Thursday, July 31 | 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

All Requests for Public Assistance (RPAs) must be submitted by August 21, 2025, and agencies are urged to attend a briefing, bring their Unique Entity Identifier (UEI) and federal EIN, and be prepared to register.
Briefings are not open to the public and are intended solely for eligible applicants. A recorded video briefing will also be available online at sema.dps.mo.gov.
