According to the Probable Cause Statement:
On May 21st the Douglas County Sherriff’s Department went to the residence of Susan Sinclair to serve an active Douglas County warrant.
The officers made themselves know but no one came to the door, the officer kicked in the door and shots were fired from within the house. The officer began returning fire to take cover and called for assistance, they gave orders for Sinclair to come out and she made it known that she had guns in both hands and she refused to drop the weapons. Officer Box fired another shot and gained entry into the residence where he and officer Evans apprehended the suspect, she resisted but they were able to put her in handcuffs. Box and Evans cleared the rest of the house and they administered first aid to the suspect who had a single gunshot would around the right eye area.
Susan Sinclair is being charged with the following:
Assault 1st Degree A
Armed Criminal Action
Resisting or Interfering with Arrest
Unlawful Use of a Weapon
