Death Number One:
At 8:12 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 14, 2025, resident Trevaris Rachel, DOC No. 1306139,
was pronounced dead at Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri.
Rachel was a 32-year-old resident serving a 22-year sentence for one count of second
degree murder, two counts of armed criminal action, one count of first-degree robbery,
four counts of receiving stolen property from Jackson County. Rachel was received in
the Missouri Department of Corrections on Jan. 24, 2017.
Death Number Two:
At 12:41 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 15, 2025, resident Lawrence Belk, DOC No. 511787,
confined at South Central Correctional Center, was pronounced dead at Texas County
Memorial Hospital in Houston, Missouri.
Belk was a 62-year-old resident serving a life sentence for one count of rape, two
counts of sodomy, one count of first-degree sexual abuse, seven counts of armed
criminal action, one count of kidnapping, one count of first-degree robbery and one
count of burglary from St. Louis County. Belk was received in the Missouri Department
of Corrections on Jan. 5, 1995.
No cause of death was listed for either individual autopsy’s will be performed. Ozark Radio News has reached out to the Department of Corrections and we will update if and when we receive further information.
