A disabled vehicle blocking traffic on MO Highway 5 north of Wasola led to the arrest of Kaleb Yost on multiple drug charges, according to law enforcement officials.
Deputies discovered a black 2022 Dodge Charger with Arkansas plates obstructing the southbound lane on September 8. The vehicle was unoccupied and locked, prompting authorities to have it towed for safekeeping. During an inventory at the tow lot, a survival knife was found on the front seat. Inside the knife’s hollow handle, deputies located a syringe and a baggie containing suspected methamphetamine.
Yost, the registered owner, met deputies at the tow lot the following day and confirmed ownership of the knife. He was arrested at 2:12 p.m. and secured in a patrol vehicle. A subsequent search of the vehicle Yost had arrived in revealed a glass meth pipe with residue next to his wallet. Yost admitted ownership, corroborated by other occupants.
Yost was transported to the Ozark County Sheriff’s Department and booked on two counts of possession of a controlled substance and two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia. He was issued citations and is scheduled to appear in Ozark County Court on November 18, 2025, at 9:00 a.m.
