On October 19, 2025, a routine traffic stop in West Plains led to the arrest of Julie Fenwick and Andrew Fenwick for first-degree drug trafficking after law enforcement discovered approximately one pound of methamphetamine concealed in her vehicle.
Corporal Travis D. Weaver of the Howell County Sheriff’s Office initiated the stop after observing equipment violations on a gray Ford Explorer traveling southbound on US Highway 63. The vehicle had been flagged earlier by South Central Drug Task Force Investigator Derek Hughston, who advised that Fenwick, a suspect in an ongoing narcotics investigation, had traveled to St. Louis—a known distribution hub for illegal drugs.
During the stop, Julie and Andrew Fenwick provided conflicting and inaccurate accounts of their whereabouts, claiming they had visited a Springfield establishment. However, FLOCK camera footage confirmed the vehicle had traveled to and from St. Louis.
After obtaining consent to search the vehicle, Weaver located a large ziplock bag containing a white crystal substance, a digital scale, a glass smoking device, and additional packaging materials. The substance tested positive for methamphetamine and weighed approximately 453.5 grams. Fenwick was taken into custody along with the male suspect.
Investigator Hughston later interviewed Fenwick, who admitted the methamphetamine had been purchased in St. Louis for resale in Howell County. She also acknowledged prior drug distribution activity and admitted to helping fabricate a cover story to mislead law enforcement.
Both Julie and Andrew Fenwick faces charges of Trafficking Drugs – 1st Degree, for knowingly distributing or delivering more than 30 grams of methamphetamine. Their bonds are set at $100,000 each.
