A head-on collision on Highway 14 west of Route O sent two men to the hospital with serious injuries and left a toddler with minor injuries, according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The crash occurred at 12:40 p.m. on July 4, when a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am, traveling eastbound, crossed the centerline and struck a 1999 Dodge 3500 heading westbound.
The 23-year-old driver of the Pontiac, from Springfield, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to CoxHealth Medical Center South. A 2-year-old male passenger in the same vehicle suffered minor injuries and was treated on scene by the Ava Ambulance District.
The 80-year-old driver of the Dodge, from Seymour, was also seriously injured and was transported to CoxHealth Medical Center South by ambulance.
