West Plains City Council to Meet Today

The West Plains City Council will convene for its regular session at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers at City Hall, 1910 Holiday Lane. The meeting will cover a range of topics, including board appointments, infrastructure projects, property purchases, and citizen concerns.

Four individuals—Kyle Pompeii, Ed Button, Rachel Peterson, and Sarah Drago—are set to fill unexpired terms on the Library Board, while six members will renew their terms on the Tourism Board. The Council will also review bids for a Plymovement Magnetic Grabber, an OTR engine, and surplus vehicles.

Two resolutions are up for approval, including Resolution 2025-06, authorizing an agreement with Great River Associates for engineering services related to the Aid Avenue storage tank booster pumps, and Resolution 2025-07, allowing the City Administrator to proceed with the purchase of property at 117 West Broadway for $200,000.

In the ordinance section, two items are up for second reading and approval—Ordinance 4798, establishing a Mutual Aid/Emergency Response policy, and Ordinance 4799, rezoning property at 702 Jefferson Avenue.

Council members will address ongoing ball field flood recovery efforts, including bids for fence and field repairs, as well as hear citizen comments, with several community members signed up to speak on topics such as utility billing, animal welfare laws, panhandling, and other concerns.

The meeting is open to the public.
