West Plains Officer Officially Recognized for Crisis Negotiation

West Plains, MO. – This morning, February 26th, Detective Jeremy Pounders of the West Plains Police Department was recognized for their efforts in crisis negotiation during a hostage situation back in January.

“Serving as the sole and lead crisis negotiator, Detective Pounders maintained calm, steady communication for nearly six hours under extremely high-stakes conditions. Through exceptional skill, composure, empathy, and unwavering professionalism, he successfully de-escalated the situation, resulting in the safe and unharmed release of multiple children.
