West Plains PD Asking for Public Help Preventing Park Vandalism

West Plains, MO. – The West Plains PD took to social media recently, talking about an increase of vandalism cases around the town. The unedited release will be included below.

Over the past several weeks, we’ve seen an increase in vandalism around West Plains—particularly in our city parks and public spaces.

While we understand that acts like this can happen anywhere, we want to be clear: they will not be tolerated here.

Vandalism is more than just a nuisance. It costs taxpayer dollars to clean up or repair damage. It pulls city crews away from their regular responsibilities. And it sends a message that our shared spaces aren’t respected.

We’re asking for your help:
– Parents, please talk with your children about the impact of vandalism.
– Residents, if you see something, say something. Report acts of vandalism to our non-emergency line at 417-256-2244.

West Plains belongs to all of us. Let’s work together to keep it clean, safe, and welcoming for everyone.

Thank you for your support.
— West Plains Police Chief Brian Bunch
