West Plains Police Makes Arrest After Suspect Flees on Foot

According to the Probable Cause Statement on June 9, 2025, at approximately 1354 hours, officers responded to a residence in West Plains, Missouri, in reference to a male subject choking a female subject.

Upon the first officer’s arrival, the suspect, identified as Dylan Dalton, fled the scene on foot. Dalton was pursued by law enforcement from N Howell Ave to the area of Joe Jones Blvd and Columbus St.

As officers were attempting to apprehend Dalton, a officer witnessed Dalton reach into his pocket and throw what appeared to be a glass pipe with a white substance inside. Officers searched the area where Dalton had thrown the pipe, and the pipe was located; however, the pipe was broken. The pipe tested positive for Methamphetamine. At the scene, I discovered the victim and Dalton had a verbal argument that had turned physical

 Dalton and the victim have a past romantic relationship. Two witnesses advised the victim was in the driver’s seat of a vehicle when Dalton, who was in the passenger seat, placed his arm around the victim’s neck and pulled her toward the passenger side of the vehicle. Dalton then exited the passenger seat of the vehicle and opened the driver’s door, where he grabbed the victim by the throat with, his hand. The witnesses indicated the victim appeared distressed, and these actions by Dalton were clearly unwanted.

Dalton has been charged with Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia,  Tampering with Evidence, Resisting arrest, and Domestic Assault.
