On August 30, 2025, officers responded to a domestic disturbance in progress at a residence located at 2309 Terra Street, following a 911 call initially placed as a welfare check for a non-English speaking Hispanic female.
Dispatchers were able to establish communication with the woman and determined the situation involved domestic violence. The suspect, identified as Lionet Hernandez, had reportedly left the scene prior to officers’ arrival. However, while en route, authorities were informed that Hernandez had returned to the residence, and contact with the victim was subsequently lost.
Upon arrival, officers made contact with the victim, identified by initials S.D., who stated that Hernandez had fled the scene again. A short time later, Hernandez was located nearby and taken into custody without incident.
Using translation assistance, officers obtained a statement from the victim indicating that Hernandez had struck her in the face with his fist and pulled her hair during the altercation. Visible injuries were documented on her right eye and lip. Authorities confirmed that Hernandez and the victim are legally married.
Hernandez has been charged with Domestic Assault in the Third Degree.
