The Willow Springs Chamber of Commerce is proud to honor the American Legion Smith-Holloway Post #384 as the July Business Spotlight. Located at 1021 N. Walnut Street, the Post has long stood as a symbol of patriotism, sacrifice, and community involvement in Willow Springs.
This year, Post #384 holds a special place of recognition as it has been named the Grand Marshal of the 2025 Fourth of July Parade—an honor that celebrates decades of service to veterans and the broader community. From Memorial Day ceremonies and patriotic observances to scholarships, youth mentorship, and flag retirement services, Post #384 has left a lasting impact on local life.
Founded in 1932 and named in memory of World War I heroes Guy and Clyde Holloway and Hearl Smith, the Post has continued to evolve and serve. The original building was constructed during the Great Depression as a Works Progress Administration (WPA) project, and recent renovations have enhanced accessibility and preserved its historic legacy.
Commander Ray Kelly and fellow Legionnaires continue to embody the values of unity, service, and civic pride—making their selection as Grand Marshals a heartfelt gesture of thanks from the Willow Springs community.
Residents are encouraged to join the celebration during the Fourth of July Parade and take a moment to recognize the extraordinary contributions of Post #384.
